After 19 years as WCCO-morning TV’s and mid-morning host, TV anchor Jason Derusha is retiring. What is his destination? What comes next?

Jason is a long-time WCCO TV morning host and Minnesota Monthly’s food critic. One of Minnesota’s most popular songs.

Jason will also be leaving his position as a morning anchor at WCCO TV. He joined the WCCO network in 2003 because his voice is familiar to listeners.

Recalling his early days, Not only did Jason work in WCCO TV, but he also explored his knowledge and experience as the reporter for the station’s Good Question segment and worked as a weekend anchor.  

Jason interned at ABC World News Tonight based in New York upon his graduation.

After working for nearly 19 years, Jason announced his decision to quit the WCCO network revealed on Tuesday. It’s been incredible years ever, said Jason. 

The news of him signing off from the show next month on June 23 has made fans sad and happy. It was a mixed emotion for them.

According to Twin Cities, Jason, now 47, is overwhelmed by the support from the WCCO TV team. Derusha is taking some time off from the show, and the last two years have been traumatic and full of surprises with the COVID-19 pandemic and war.

His listeners are excited to know his next move or plans. What’s next?

Jason Derusha didn’t share his next plan, but he will remain at WCCO in a limited role, performing as a special correspondent for occasional stories.

He made clear that he won’t be running for governor nor moved into politics.

However, it’s unclear what will be his next move as he wants some time to think about his plans.

Apart from being an anchor, Jason has also worked as a food critic for Minnesota Monthly. Will he leave that job too?
