Maddie Riewoldt was recognized as the sister of AFL star and Masterchef Nick Riewoldt. She had always been interested in sports and was a huge fan of AFL.

When she died at Royal Melbourne Hospital, she was surrounded by her family. Maddie had been diagnosed with aplastic anemia as well.
Aplastic anemia, on the other hand, is an uncommon condition in which the body’s bone marrow fails to create enough new blood cells. Throughout her five-year treatment, she stayed strong and positive.
She got chemotherapy and two bone marrow transplants from French donors at that time. Riewoldt had undergone two bone marrow transplants, more than 100 blood transfusions, and seven months in hospital dealing with the situation.
