According to officials, Marcello Molinari, 43, was arrested shortly after on second-degree murder charges. The husband and father were arrested overnight at the local precinct and were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
On Friday morning, the woman’s death and disappearance were still being investigated.
Furthermore, police have not stated whether Molinari’s disappearance is suspicious, only that her family, including her husband, is cooperating.
Suffolk County investigators returned to the neighborhood on Wednesday to continue their search, but not to the residence.
