Narcan may be administered orally or nasally. Being “Narcanned” is a slang phrase for getting a dose of Narcan; oddly, it doesn’t yet have its article in the Urban Dictionary.

A drug called naloxone can stop an opioid overdose in its tracks. It’s an “opioid antagonist,” according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
Narcan binds to opioid receptors, where it blocks and reverses the effects of other opioids. While it can restore regular breathing, it does not affect someone whose system is free of opioids.
Heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, and fentanyl are all examples of opioids.
What Does Narcanned Meme Mean? Fentanyl Crisis Resurges Old Meme
Suppose someone jokes that they “Narcanned” your honor student on their bumper. In that case, one interpretation is that they are drawing attention to the Stigma associated with people addicted to heroin (or another opiate).
The rise in fentanyl overdose rates is the cause of the generic term naloxone and the brand name Narcan entering the common language. Opioids like fentanyl have effects that Narcan (or naxolone) can block.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that deaths involving fentanyl produced illegally are “on the rise.”
Provisional death statistics for 2021 “indicate an escalation” of overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic; overdose deaths involving “synthetic opioids” increased by more than 56% between 2019 and 2020.
Narcan, one of the more well-known brand names for naloxone, is becoming more widely available in several states, including Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
Narcanned Definition As Per Reddit And Twitter Posts
In a forum post on the subject, a Reddit user comments that socioeconomically wealthy parents who are “blinded by ego” sometimes believe their child is an “honors student,” which means they “can do no wrong.”
Addiction, overdose, and death are the great equalizers; they continue. They can impact anyone. This, in my opinion, is a remark on the alleged gap between academically motivated social climbers and the less fortunate members of society.
