Kit Kat Australia have succumb to fans’ demands to return its cookie dough flavoured chocolate bar to the shelves.

The iconic bar is the ‘most requested’ flavour in Australian Kit Kat history and landed in two forms – chunky and the family-sized block – across the country on Tuesday.

Both products feature KitKat’s signature crisp wafer, combined with Cookie Dough filling covered in smooth milk chocolate, with both promising to be ‘dough-lightfully delicious’, according to the people at Nestle.

Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery, Melanie Chen said it is ‘no surprise’ the bar is a fan favourite.

‘It’s delicious, exciting and elevates any break, thanks to its indulgent filling.’

But not all foodies were pleased with the launch.

Russ, from Russ Eats, a popular food review page on Instagram was all too happy to share is lackluster experience trying the new bar.

‘As usual the block is sh*t, you don’t taste anything but a normal KitKat,’ he fumed.

He admitted he is a big fan of the KitKat Chunky range, in general, so also gave that a go.

‘You definitely taste something different but it is kind of like a sour cookies and cream flavour,’ he said.

Adding he’s not sure if that’s the flavour he remembers from the first edition of the bar.

‘I am a little disappointed,’ he said, scrunching his face.

Others agreed.

‘Was disappointed with this. I thinks its bc its a cookie dough creme and not actual cookie dough,’ one man wrote on Russ’ video.

‘I was so excited. They missed the spot completely,’ said another on Facebook.

Some didn’t.

‘KitKat cookie dough chunky is elite come on man,’ one said.

‘I tried it already and it is delicious,’ one person said on the Grocery Geek’s announcement on the sweet product drop.

Another posted raving about the chocolate bars that Russ described as sh*t.

‘This is a dream come true, thanks KitKat,’ they said.

Some had already made up their minds before trying the product, and were not going to be swayed by Russ’ review.

‘Cookie dough though – that is an easy 9.5 out of ten,’ one person said – contradicting Russ’ score of 6.5.

The KitKat cookie dough bars and blocks are available at supermarkets and convenience stores across Australia.
