Why Is Russia Invading Ukraine?
Russia invading Ukraine seems to be a plan for a long time by the Russian government.
Both countries being former Soviet Union nations, Russia and Ukraine’s political relationship has reached its boiling point after Putin-led Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.
Russia had been sending thousands of military troops on the borders of Ukraine prior to the invasion demanding NATO to stop allying on the eastern nations mostly Ukraine.
Ukraine, on the other hand, had urged the USA president to let the country join forces with NATO.
Weeks after placing the troops on the Ukrainian border, the Russian government had stated that they had called their troops back but the satellite videos had said otherwise.
Fast forward a couple of days later, Russia has declared war against Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Ukraine does not have a NATO membership.
