When City hosted Blackburn Rovers in November, Sullivan, who was City’s oldest living player, made an appearance at Ashton Gate to mark his 93rd birthday and was presented with a signed shirt and framed photo of his legendary save.

In November 2021, BBC Radio Bristol’s Geoff Twentyman interviewed Con on his life and career.

Con Sullivan’s Net Worth

Con Sullivan’s net worth is unknown as of 2022. Cornelius Sullivan, who joined City as a 20-year-old in May 1949, made 73 league and cup games before joining Arsenal in February 1954.

He was engaged in one of the most famous and unusual football own-goals during his tenure at Arsenal. When he and defender Dennis Evans thought they heard the full-time whistle, their team was 4-0 up against Blackpool.

Evans booted the ball into his own goal when he turned his back to collect his cap from the net, only to realize the whistle had come from the crowd.

Con made 28 league games for the Gunners before retiring in 1958 due to a shoulder injury and returning to Knowle West.
