What Happened To Katie Meyer Stanford Soccer? Katie Meyer was discovered dead inside her Stanford University dorm room.

Yesterday, the university’s Athletics Director announced that a student had been discovered dead inside the building. The college, however, did not reveal the identity out of respect for the deceased’s family’s privacy.

However, the university later confirmed her death in a letter sent to the school’s community on Wednesday.

Katie Meyer, 22, was discovered dead inside her college dorm. She was a senior majoring in international relations and minoring in history. She was also a resident assistant.

She was also the captain of Stanford University’s women’s soccer team. She was a goalkeeper for the team that previously gained attention in 2019 when she made two game-winning saves to help Stanford win the NCAA championship over the University of North Carolina.

Bernard Muir, the athletic director, described her as an outstanding student-athlete and a beloved, passionate leader. Several people have paid tribute to her and expressed their sorrow over her death.

Susie Brubaker-Cole, vice provost for student affairs, stated that she was committed to everything and everyone in the world.

As mentioned in People.com, Following Meyer’s death, the university made counseling available in her residence hall and to athletes.

 

Death Cause – How Did Katie Actually Die?

Katie Meyer is rumored to have died of suicide. However, the university has not revealed the cause of death to respect the family’s privacy. 

Likewise, when the news of a student’s death in a college dorm first came by, the university had not revealed the identity of the dead as well. However, the athletic director had pointed out that she was a member of the Woman’s soccer team.

Many social media users have reported that she committed suicide. They also stated that there have been several suicides at the university in the last two years.

A law student committed suicide in January. In February of last year, a medical student committed suicide. Although the university offers counseling to students, the effort does not appear to benefit everyone because some deaths are unavoidable.

Katie Meyer, a player of Stanford Women’s soccer team death, was reported in obituary notice from the university.
