Rebecca Lawson, an Indianapolis resident, was found guilty in January 2017 of murdering 35-year-old Patrick Brown and injuring 38-year-old Cecilia Land in a shooting on the city’s southwest side.

In February of 2016, at approximately 8:45 p.m., it occurred in the 3400 block of South Lynhurst Drive.

Rebecca Lawson, according to authorities, dialed 911 and willingly surrendered to officers following the incident.

Lawson was later charged with murder and attempted murder.

 

 

What Happened To Patrick Brown? Dateline

Rebecca Lawson’s on-again, off-again boyfriend was Patrick Brown.

Lawson shot both of them after discovering him sleeping with another woman.

She texted Patrick Brown prior to the tragic incident, offering to bring dinner.

However, he turned her off by explaining that he needed to stay late at work. Rebecca drove suspiciously to his house and discovered that he had company.

Patrick warned her that she needed to get out of there as soon as possible. Lawson insisted on her bringing her belongings inside. As Cece Land was about to leave, she stepped outside and raised her arms in a confrontational manner.

After she left, Rebecca texted Patrick again, telling him that Cecelia Land needed to leave.

 

 

Rebecca Lawson later shot Patrick in the chest, and CeCe Land was shot twice in the face as she approached the car with an object in her hand.

She claimed she shot them because she felt threatened.

Brown was then taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. Cece Land was also taken to the hospital. Her injuries were eventually treated and healed.

 

Where Is Rebecca Lawson Now? 

Rebecca Lawson is imprisoned for her crime in 2022.

She was sentenced to 85 years in prison, with 55 years for murder and 30 years for attempted murder.

Rebecca was convicted of murder and attempted murder in January of 2017.

The Indiana Court of Appeals later reversed her conviction and ordered a new trial in August 2018.

During the retrial, a jury found her guilty of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
