In exchange for Brännström, Ottawa also received Oscar Lindberg and a 2020 second-round draft selection. [9] On March 14, 2019, Brännström made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators in a game against the St. Louis Blues.

 

Who Are Erik Brannstrom Parents?

Erik Brännström was born on September 2, 1999, in Stockholm, Sweden, to Swedish parents. He is a professional ice hockey defenseman for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Brännström was drafted 15th overall by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, and he was traded to Ottawa in 2019.

Brännström was a member of the HV71 junior hockey club in Sweden. In 2013–14, he made his under-16 debut, appearing in twenty-three games in the J16 SM.

The following season, Brännström joined HV71’s J20 SuperElit. Brännström debuted in the Swedish Hockey League in 2015–16.

The Vegas Golden Knights selected him 15th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft[4], and he signed a three-year entry-level deal with the team on July 16, 2017.

During the 2017–18 season, he was a member of the HV71 organization, Brännström was recalled to the NHL for the first time on May 5, 2018, to assist the Knights during their Stanley Cup playoff run, although he did not participate in any games.

On September 27, 2018, Brännström was reassigned to the AHL after attending the Golden Knights’ 2018 training camp. Brännström was picked to play in the 2019 AHL All-Star Game during the 2018–19 season.

Brännström was hit in the face by EHC Biel’s Damien Brunner during a line change in the third period of his ninth game with the Tigers on November 21, 2020.

Furthermore, he was not injured during the play, and Brunner was immediately given game misconduct.

But, after appearing in 10 games (8 points), he left the Tigers on December 11, 2020, to return to Ottawa for the start of training camp.

He made his under-16 debut in the J16 SM in 2012–13. He played in 26 U-18 games the following season, scoring 29 goals and adding 28 assists.

He also played in the annual TV puck, an under-15 national event, with a regional all-star squad from Sweden.
