In his career as a kickboxer, the New Zealand fighter has recorded 75 wins and five losses. The fighter has lost all his kickboxing contests, losing four by decision and one by knockout. 2014’s Simon Marcus was the opponent he lost to first.

First defeat in the middleweight division of Kunlun Fight 2: World Tour for the mixed martial artist. In Zhengzhou, China, he was defeated by an extra-round split decision in the competition’s semifinals.

Further, his second loss came when he faced Filip Verlinden in Glory 15 in Istanbul, Turkey, in April of 2014. He lost the bout by unanimous decision. However, the kickboxer avenged his defeat against Filip at the Glory of Heroes 3 event, which he won unanimously.

His three other defeats came against Alex Pereira and Jason Wilnis, of which he has lost two bouts against Alex Pereira. Pereira defeated him at Glory of Heroes 1 and Glory of Heroes 7. He lost his first fight against Pereira by unanimous decision, while he lost the second via knockout.

The fighter’s other loss came when he faced Jason Wilnis at Glory 37, Los Angeles, by unanimous decision. Further, the fighter lost a single match across his MMA career. His only loss in MMA came against Jan Blachowicz by unanimous decision.

The New Zealand fighter was born in Nigeria on July 22, 1989. He started his career as a kickboxer in May 2010, from which he went on an undefeated streak of 7 fights. He went on to win 75 bouts in his 80 career matches.

The fighter then tried his luck in mixed martial arts and became immensely successful. He made his MMA debut in 2012 against James Griffiths, which he won via knockout. After a few fights after his debut, he took a break from MMA before returning in August 2015.

The player signed a contract with UFC in December of 2017. After joining UFC, he went on to win the interim UFC Middleweight Championship on April 13, 2019, in UFC 236. This fight earned the fighter the Fight of the Night Award. The UFC fighter is scheduled to face Jared Cannonier in UFC 276 for UFC Middleweight Championship.

The UFC fighter made his professional boxing debut in the November of 2014 in a bout against two-time Australian champion Daniel Ammann. In his professional boxing career, the fighter has bagged five wins with only a single loss in his name.
