According to Andriy Dubcha, a Ukrainian journalist who first shared the harrowing footage of the family’s death by shelling. They were from Donetsk but fled to Irpin in 2014 when fighting erupted in the east of Ukraine between Ukrainian forces and Russian separatists, according to the New York Post.
According to the reporter, there was also a man with them who was possibly assisting them in escaping. Anatoly, a 28-year-old from Lugansk, was identified as the man who died alongside them.
However, no specific connection to the family has been discovered by news outlets.

According to Mirror, when they moved to Ukraine’s capital, they chose to live in Irpin on the outskirts of Kyiv. Likewise, Tatyana got a job at SE Ranking, where she became the accounting department manager.
She was “adored” by her coworkers. One of her colleagues said that she would always calmly answer stupid queries related to tax, overseas payment, or anything else.
Another said that she had a great sense of humor, and everyone would laugh at her jokes about the kids and her fights with her husband.
