Australians are obsessed with a brand new chocolate block that has just hit the shelves at Coles – but not everyone is pleased with the delectable treat.
New Zealand chocolate brand Whittaker’s has just released a ‘Choc Cross Bun’ chocolate bar ($6.90) with natural mixed spices, fruit, and orange oil ahead of Easter.
The chocolate marries the bold flavours of hot cross buns with the brand’s signature creamy milk chocolate, an all-time favourite combination for Aussies.
While many claim the indulgent flavour is their ‘new favourite’, others simply claimed the blend was ‘yuck’.
The limited-edition buy is however not yet available in New Zealand, and Kiwis are flaming over the snub.

The Choc Cross Bun bars will be available in New Zealand from February 5, but Aussies can find them on shelves at Coles now.
A few furious fans pointed out that it was ‘unfair’ that Australia received shipments of the chocolate first because the bars are produced in New Zealand.
‘Why does Australia always get the limited editions first now?’ one asked.
‘Made in NZ and Australia gets it first. Gutted,’ a woman said,
‘This is my dream combination, but I live in Auckland,’ another wrote.
‘WE NEED THIS IN NZ!’ a foodie exclaimed.
On the other hand, Australian food influencers dropped their honest reviews, with South Australia foodie Michael Jaimie claiming the bar had ‘a lot going on’.
‘It smells super familiar, like ginger cookies with white icing that you get in Christmas tins,’ he said in a video.
‘There are chunky raisins and the chocolate is quite spicy – but not heat-wise. This is indulgent – you’d only need a few squares and you’ll be all right.
‘If you like fruit and nut chocolate and traditional hot cross buns, you’ll love this.’

Others also shared their excitement over the brand new buy.
‘Sitting here eating it now. It’s delicious!’ one said.
‘I’m dying to try this,’ added another.
But a few were left disappointed.
‘That looks yuck,’ a woman wrote.
‘Wait I thought they were doing the actual buns! I am gutted,’ a second said.
