On February 25, Timpf, 36, who had announced her pregnancy the previous July, took to Instagram and X to reveal that she and her husband, Cameron Friscia, welcomed their first child shortly after she learned about her diagnosis.

Describing her announcement as “unconventional,” Timpf explained, “Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. Approximately fifteen hours before labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.”

The panelist on Gutfield! informed her followers that her doctor classified her cancer as Stage 0 and expressed confidence that it has not spread.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Stage 0 is “the earliest stage of breast cancer” and is “highly treatable when identified early.”

Timpf candidly shared that discovering her diagnosis was anything but calm.

“I woke up more than a week past my due date, completely focused on doing everything I could to induce labor,” she recalled. “By the afternoon, I was moving from appointment to appointment, discussing how to address my cancer.”

During these appointments, she learned that the recommended course of action would likely involve a double mastectomy as soon as possible.

She expressed her appreciation for the hospital staff’s ability to appreciate her dark humor during this tough time.

“Just moments after my son was born, I was chatting with the nurses about how a birth announcement in my situation might be framed,” she shared.

Timpf mentioned that she is still adjusting to her “new reality,” noting that her upcoming three months of maternity leave will be “significantly different than I had expected.”

“Nevertheless, as I navigate the challenges of new motherhood (and a new cancer diagnosis), I am learning to adapt.”
