Jennifer LaRocca, a New Jersey resident, admitted to stealing money from Joe in 2016. She claimed that her husband was hired to pay Piscopo’s bills, and that she used the money to write checks for her own use. After pleading guilty to stealing, LaRocca was sentenced to pay Joe approximately $171,000 in restitution.
Under questioning from defense attorney Brent Bramnick, Larocca admitted to the judge that he was in charge of managing a portion of J.P.’s funds and that he misappropriated $170,805 for his own use between February 16, 2010, and March 13, 2014.
Larocca did not say how the money was spent, and his lawyer later declined to comment. He claimed that while working for J.P., he stole from his properties in Chester and Randolph townships. He and his wife, Jennifer, have since relocated to Hackettstown.
On May 13, an assistant prosecutor for Morris County, Francine Ehrenberg, proposed that Larocca be sentenced to three years in state prison. Bramnick, on the other hand, contended that Larocca, who had agreed to repay the money with his wife jointly, deserved a non-incarceration punishment.
