Ricky Waumsley Bio – Daniel Whitworth Partner
Ricky Waumsley appears to be in his mid-twenties.
When his partner, Daniel Whitworth, was murdered in 2014, he was in his early twenties.
Daniel and Ricky met for the first time in Margate, where Daniel was on vacation and Ricky was staying. They moved in together in 2011 after dating for over a year. In 2014, Waumsley worked for a pharmaceutical company.
He claims that during the investigation into his boyfriend’s death, he was “pushed out” by police because the two were an unmarried gay couple. Furthermore, he wasn’t allowed to see his partner’s suicide note until a year had passed.

Ricky Waumsley: Stephen Port Victim Case
Daniel Whitworth was living in Kent with his boyfriend Ricky Waumsley when tragedy struck the couple’s happy home.
Daniel went missing on September 18, 2014, and has yet to be found. He had been working as a chef in London’s Canary Wharf.
He was later discovered dead in a churchyard in Barking, not far from where Gabriel Kovari had been discovered a few weeks before.
Daniel Whitworth, according to detectives, committed suicide after leaving a note. After causing Gabriel Kovari’s death, he felt guilty.
The note was a forgery created by Stephen Port in order to hide his tracks. Daniel’s father told jurors that he never confirmed that the suicide note discovered was written by his son.
When Whitworth and Waumsley were apart, they texted each other every day. Their messages would have been crucial in determining where Daniel was at the time Gabriel’s body was discovered.
The police department failed to conduct proper background checks. It would have been clear that Daniel was nowhere near Barking when Gabriel’s body was discovered if it had been done.
Officers had not DNA-tested the bedsheet or the drug bottles, it was discovered in 2015.
