Affair: Wayne Carey Dating History With Different Woman - Kelli Stevens, Net Worth & Drug Controversies

While participating in the third season of SAS Australia in February 2022, 20 years after the affair’s initial backlash, Carey acknowledged that having an affair with Anthony Stevens’ wife was his worst adult mistake.

Carey and Stevens reconnected later in August at a celebration honoring the 26th anniversary of their victory in 1996. Carey and Stevens got into a verbal altercation at the gathering. Reports state that things did, however, eventually calm down. There was no chance of a disagreement because the two continued walking and shared a beer.

On Thursday, Carey was gambling at Perth’s Crown Casino when a bag fell out of his pocket. The 51-year-old admitted that the whitish substance in that bag was his anti-inflammatory medication as soon as security arrived. He was consequently given a two-year ban from all Crown locations due to allegations of drug use.

Wayne Carey and Kelli Stevens Affair

In the late 1990s, one of the best players in the Australian Football League was Wayne. Many AFL fans adored him, and young athletes looked up to him as they attempted to emulate his success in the league. He did, however, create the hole that resulted in the death of his professional AFL playing career.

Everything started in 2002 when Anthony Stevens’ wife, who was also the team’s vice-captain, caught him with her. Before the incident, they were close, and Stevens had even helped Carey get ready for his wedding to his then-wife Sally McMahon. Carey and Stevens went to a party that Glenn Archer, a teammate, hosted in March of that year.

Carey said that in front of a large group of people, including her husband, Kelli followed him into the bathroom. After a fight between Carey and Stevens, neither player showed up for football practice. To avoid media attention, Carey fled to Las Vegas, USA. He later left North Melbourne in disgrace after his squad turned against him and widely criticized him.

Affair: Wayne Carey Dating History With Different Woman

Despite being regarded as a pivotal figure in AFL history, Wayne is also well-known for his love life and extramarital affairs. Five women in his life, including his brief ex-girlfriend Kelli Stevens, are in relationships with him.

His distrustful behavior toward women has drawn harsh criticism from many, and it is undoubtedly one of many factors that have diminished the incredible legacy and fame the former AFL player once enjoyed. The details of his dating history and relationships are provided below.

Sally McMahon (2001-2006) –  In a private ceremony attended by both of their families, Wayne Carey wed his longtime partner Sally McMahon in 2001. When he turned 20 and she was 17, they first met at a party in Wagga Wagga.

However, only one year after they had been married, the North Melbourne captain had an extramarital affair with Kelli, the wife of his former teammate Antony Stevens. Before they separated in 2006, Carey and Sally were able to work things out and had a daughter.

Kelli Stevens – 2002 –  His teammate Anthony Stevens had married Kelli in 1998. It was discovered that Carey was having an affair with Kelli when Stevens attended a party at the residence of Glenn Archer, a colleague. Coworkers found Wayne and Kelli in the restroom together at a birthday party, ending both men’s marriages. In 2008, six years after the scandalous affair, Wayne and Kelli permanently ended their relationship.

Kate Neilson (2006 – 2009) – Carey began dating fashion model Kate Neilson in 2006 after splitting from Sally. Despite being briefly engaged in 2009, the couple’s relationship ended because of allegations that Carey was unfaithful. They were still in touch, but their relationship wasn’t the best. It took them some time to get there, according to the model.

Stephanie Edwards (2011 – 2016) –  Two years after his third failed relationship, in 2011, Carey started dating Stephanie. The couple got engaged in 2015, but their engagement was also short-lived. Charlotte, who is now seven years old, was born to the couple in 2014. But it was discovered in 2016 that Carey and Stephanie had split up earlier in the year and were currently working through their issues.

Jessica Paulke (2018 to present) – Former AFL player Jessica Paulke is his girlfriend. Jessica Paulke is a Victorian model. Carey and Jessica Paulke were first spotted together at the Australian Open in January 2018, and a few months later, their relationship was made widely known. Their first child, Carter Michael Carey, was born in February 2019 and was born the same year that they both became pregnant. Right now, their relationship is going well, and we have nothing but the best wishes for them in the future.

How Much Is Wayne Carey Net Worth In 2022?

As of 2022, the former football player had a net worth of $1.5 million. His lucrative contracts and brand alliances were his main sources of income. Since 2014, Carey has served as a panelist on Channel Seven’s Talking Footy program and Friday night football analyst. After retiring, he served as an assistant coach for a number of teams. He is now a well-known analyst and host.

He has also written for The Age and frequently contributes to The Midweek Rub, a segment of Triple M’s The Rush Hour that is now a podcast. He had previously worked for 3AW and Channel 9 prior to being fired for a glassing incident in Miami.

One of the greatest players in Australian rules football history without a doubt is Wayne. When he was eight years old, he began playing Australian rules football. He also played junior rugby league. When he was thirteen years old, Carey moved to Adelaide, where he attended The Heights School and played junior football for North Adelaide. He earned the moniker “The King” thanks to his fierce game performances.

While playing for North Melbourne, he garnered four Syd Barker Medals and seven All-Australian selections. In 1998, the Australian Football Media Association named him Player of the Year after he helped the Kangaroos win two AFL Premierships.

Despite his football success, Wayne has battled substance abuse his entire life. He has committed numerous crimes, ranging from molestation to drug use. Nevertheless, among his numerous illegal activities, two incidents caused him to experience the most backlash.

In March 2008, Carey came clean about his longtime addiction to alcohol and cocaine. In talking about his life and current affairs, he was open and honest. In February 2012, he was turned away from a speaking engagement at Barwon Prison due to the presence of cocaine residue on his clothing.

A Ziploc bag containing whitish powder recently fell onto the table as Carey was playing the slots on September 1, 2022. Carey denied it was illegal and claimed the substance was a crushed anti-inflammatory. For a period of two years, Carey was not permitted to enter Crown estates after receiving a notice of license withdrawal.

He was staying at the Crown hotel to watch the Fremantle-Bulldogs elimination game when he was ejected for his behavior. He won’t be able to attend the 2022 Brownlow Medal count, which will be held at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium, as a result of this.
