According to the Omaha Fire Department and the Omaha Firefighters Union, Local 385, Don Sweazy, passed away following a tragic event during a holiday with family.
Reportedly, Don Sweazy was 60 years of age. He earlier served as a firefighter for seven years. In April 2013, the department promoted him to the position of Fire Apparatus Engineer.
Since June 2016, FAE Sweazy’s been assigned to E56A, according to the department. His hard work and dedication made him a celebrated firefighter in the Omaha Fire Department.
Devil’s Lake Tubing Case: Thomas O’Leary Drowning In Hawaii With Daughter
Thomas O’Leary, 39, drowned while tubing with his daughter on Devil’s Lake, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
As per reports, Two families from Sylvania, Ohio, were alleged to have hired a lake cottage for Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday afternoon, deputies were called to allegations of a probable drowning while the families were tubing.
O’Leary and his daughter were tubings when they went off, according to officials. Deputies said O’Leary did not return to the surface because he was not wearing a life vest.
According to deputies, the youngster reportedly wore a life vest and is “fine.” Alcohol isn’t thought to have had a role.
Multiple dive teams and sonar devices were brought in after officials were unable to locate the victim. O’Leary’s body was discovered Monday evening thanks to their combined efforts.
The Victim Services Unit of the Sheriff’s Office has been on the scene with the family.

OFD wrote in a recent statement, “The Omaha Fire Department and the Omaha Firefighters Union, Local 385 offer our condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his wife and family at this time.”
The tribute on Facebook says, Condolences to the family and friends of BHS class of 1980 alum Don Sweazy who passed away this week.”
