Martin Juneau Bio – Who Is He?
Martin Juneau is a 44-year-old chef who is a famous and renowned restauranteur in Montreal.
Martin started cooking 17 years ago; he isn’t an overnight sensation but has worked hard up the chef’s ladder for over 17 years. He said that none of the restaurants he had worked is now open except one or two, which shows how much time has passed and how hard he has worked hard to reach where he is now; he started working in a hospital as he said, ” Me getting into cooking is a complete coincidence.”
Further, he said that he took a break from studies and started working as a dishwasher at the hospital where his mother used to work as a nurse. He liked the ambiance of the kitchen as it was a psychiatric hospital, so it was small. They used to bring fresh vegetables and good ingredients, making him like the kitchen even more. That was when he made his first ratatouille in the hospital kitchen.

The chef’s first restaurant job was at a bistro named Le Pistou. He learned a lot in that job. He said that when he went to the restaurant, it was pretty empty as they only had a strange cheese-influenced menu, but after he worked for one month, the restaurant started getting really packed as the people started liking his new dishes.
Today, Martin, along with his successful restaurants and a strong team at his side, is investing in other projects too. He co-starred for two years on a reality cooking show too.
The chef says that his cooking is simple; it is not technical but felt with more emotions as he likes to feel the seasons in his cuisine, but he isn’t necessarily the best technician; he would say he is just good at many things.
Martin is more focused now, especially on Canadian chefs, as he is from Canada and wants to develop Canadian foods.
