Six teenagers, including a 14-year-old, were arrested Tuesday by Des Moines police for a shooting outside a school that killed a 15-year-old boy.
One of them, Octavio Lopez, was apprehended for shooting on the grounds of East High School, near Des Moines’ downtown.
According to police, multiple shooters from various vehicles opened fire outside the school.

Des Moines police have executed five search warrants. During the investigation, police stated that they discovered six guns.
Octavio Lopez, 17, 14, Nyang Chamdual, 16, Manuel Buezo, Romero Perdomo, 15, Alex Perdomo, and 17-year-old Henry Valladares-Amaya have been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
The name of the deceased 15-year-old boy has been withheld, while the 16-year-old girl is in critical condition in the hospital.
In addition, an 18-year-old woman is in critical condition and fighting for her life.

17-Year-Old Octavio Lopez Arrested Among 6 Teens From Des Moines
While Octavio Lopez, a 17-year-old teenager, was arrested for the shooting near East High, the others detained ranged in age from 14 to 18.
The school was immediately placed on lockdown, and students were kept inside while police conducted an investigation.
They were released at 3:30 p.m. after the law enforcement officers gave them the all-clear.
Jill Versteeg, the school’s principal, called the incident “everyone’s worst nightmare” and urged parents to “hold and cherish” their children.
Officials had previously halted classrooms across the district on Tuesday to allow juniors to take the ACT college entrance exam.
ON TUESDAY, the ACT examinations and parent-teacher conferences at East High School were canceled.
Grief counselors were also offered through the district.
