A man who became paralyzed after swallowing a slug on a birthday party dare died at the age of 28. A very rare infection (infestation) of the brain brought on by rat lungworms is known as eosinophilic meningoencephalitis.
Affected people may experience headaches, stiff necks, tingling or pain in their skin, fever, nausea, and vomiting as a result of this illness. From the time you eat the slug or snail until you get sick, it usually takes 1-3 weeks.
