Alex de Minaur is born in Sydney, Australia to his father, Anibal, and mother, Esther. De Minaur’s father, Anibal, operated an Italian restaurant on Sydney’s George Street and met Esther while she was working as a waitress there.

His parents were always there to support and encourage him, even while they were facing financial difficulties.
His family experienced a financial problem in 2011. It was so terrible that they couldn’t even pay Alex’s travel bills, putting his promising tennis career in jeopardy.
Fortunately, Adolfo Gutierrez, De Minaur’s longtime coach, came to the rescue. He refused to accept any monetary compensation from Alex’s parents in exchange for his training.
This saved Alex’s career at a time when he could have had to give up tennis if training become too expensive.

He completed the year ranked 208th in singles.
Recently, at the 2022 French Open, he was rated No. 20 and was knocked out in the first round by No. 74 ranked Frenchman Hugo Gaston in a five-set contest that lasted over four hours.
De Minaur seeded 19th at Wimbledon, defeated Hugo Dellien, Jack Draper, and Liam Broady to go to the fourth round, where he will face Cristian Garn.
Despite his success and the attention that has come with it, De Minaur isn’t getting ahead of himself, nor is he allowing his newfound popularity to get to his head, according to Roman.
