Dennis Waterman was best known for his tough-guy roles in television shows such as Minder, New Tricks, and The Sweeney. Pam Flint, his fourth wife, assisted him in dying peacefully.

“We are deeply saddened to announce publicly that our beloved Dennis died peacefully on Saturday evening at his home in Spain, with Pam by his side,” the family said in a statement.

Dennis Waterman illness which caused the actor’s death, has not been reported so far. However, according to the Sun, his wife Pam Flint was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2006. 

Meanwhile, some reports are available hinting that the actor might have been diagnosed with cancer, but the news was kept away from public discourse. 

Dennis Waterman was a legendary TV actor. His family confirmed his death in the first place. He died peacefully by his wife’s side at the age of 74 in Spain.

‘We are deeply saddened to inform you that our beloved Dennis passed away peacefully at his home in Spain,’ the family said.

Furthermore, the family respectfully requests their privacy be respected during this difficult time. As word of Waterman’s death spread, tributes poured in on Social Media.

‘Dennis was one of our biggest TV stars throughout the 1970s and 1980s, an everyman figure who felt like one of us,’ producer Jonathan Sothcott tweeted.

Dennis Waterman Die Battling Cancer Illness From Alcoholism?

Dennis Waterman dying of cancer caused by alcoholism is unclear. It is not even sure if he had any kind of prolonged illness. 

Nevertheless, Dennis’s family can be traced back to having some health problems, including his last wife, Pam Flint, a cancer survivor herself.

On the other hand, Waterman was a famous television actor during the 1970s and 1980s.

After gaining fame as tough nut cop George Carter in The Sweeney, he played bodyguard Terry McCann in Minder.

From 2003 to 2014, he was a regular cast member on every season of New Tricks.

He only appeared in the first two episodes of the series after announcing his intention to leave during the final season (2015).

Waterman played Alfred P. Doolittle in the 2001 London revival of My Fair Lady, and Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell by Keith Waterhouse.

He appeared in the 2009 BBC2 miniseries Moses Jones and narrated the reality television show Bad Lads’ Army.

Recent work Waterman starring in the Australian drama comedy film Never Too Late in 2020, was shot in Adelaide, South Australia.
