Nonetheless, the dispute was settled a month later when the actor’s production company Tyler Perry Studios agreed to be a WGA signatory.
Apart from that, he was also sued previously by a Georgia-based entertainment company for allegedly working unfairly with government officials while trying to transform a former military base into a movie studio.
He was accused of attempting to ‘thwart the business opportunity’ of Ubiquitous Entertainment Studios in a federal lawsuit.
A UES rep met a government official back in 2011. They were the first to propose the idea of transforming Fort McPherson into a studio, but Tyler stepped in and persuaded them to agree to his deal to give a similar studio.
It seems that the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority (MILRA) accepted UES’s proposal, which was confidential, and presented it to Tyler with “site plans, construction drawings, plans, and UES’s business strategy.”
