She began her career on Star Trek: The Next Generation as a production assistant.
From October 1994 to October 1995, she worked as Ronald D. Moore’s assistant, and then as Peter Lauritson’s assistant on Star Trek: First Contact.
On Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, Nocifora worked as a post-production coordinator and then as a post-production supervisor.
She graduated with honors from California State University-Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Television/Film and an extra grade from AVID Technology, Inc.
Nocifora had been working in the television industry since her time on Star Trek, serving as an associate producer for HBO between 2005 and 2007.
She had worked as a co-producer on television shows such as The Event, Sleepy Hollow, and Scorpion, alternating between HBO and 20th Century Fox (2014).

April took a storytelling photography program with Nobechi Creative shortly after her mother died.
