Mitch Hunter had suffered a horrific car accident in the year 2001. After a decade, he had successfully received a full face transplant surgery.
Hunter had to be surgically fixed for more than 14 hours for the procedure.

In 2001, The Indianapolis native had crashed into a 10,000-volt electrical pylon, that nearly took his life. He was traveling on the North Carolina highway.
Following the incident, the brave man had also saved an injured female passenger. Electric currents, on the other hand, began to pulse through his body.
The former soldier had suffered a deformed face as a result of the encounter. He had received 67 facial reconstructive surgeries on his body.
Due to severe burns, he had to have part of his right leg amputated. He also required 20 skin grafts from his leg to repair his face and neck skin.

According to The New York Post, his transplant was possible after skin and tissues donation from many deceased people.
Today, he is completely satisfied with his face. He has said that it is the best decision he had ever made.
